Musical Theater is truly a unique art form. It incorporates three major performance styles (acting, singing, dancing) and interweaves them. In the theater business, an actor who is a "triple threat" has successfully mastered these three styles.
At MVP Musical Theater Camps, we strive to give students quality training and experience through age-appropriate activities that encourage self-expression, nurture self-esteem, and challenge the imagination. Our professional staff is committed to making this a memorable and magical experience for your child, who will have fun developing their talents and making new friends.

| A Typical Day at Camp... |
|
Upon arrival, students participate in an opening warm up session that includes educational games and activities.
In groups, they rotate through three sessions. Each session uses exercises, games and activities to teach stage presence and reinforce performance skills:

Acting (character development; awareness of the stage environment; auditioning; improvisation) |
| 2) |
Singing (proper breathing techniques; vocal projection and diction; reading musical notation; basic musicianship) |
| 3) |
Dancing (musical theater movement; production choreography; elements of several dance styles) |
After a 10-15 minute snack and bathroom break, the remaining time is devoted to rehearsal for the production.

| Basic Gear |

What to Wear: Dress to move! Wear loose, comfortable clothing and sneakers (please, no sandals or bare feet).
What to Bring: Each day, bring a drink and light snack. And hey, throw a smile in there, too.
MVP will supply each student with:

- Specialty Costuming for the show
- an MVP camp t-shirt
- A rehearsal CD, script and sheet music.

Students may be asked to provide portions of their costume for the final performance. This usually consists of clothing that is easily (and inexpensively) acquired--especially if mom can sew.
